Verdict: A super affordable way to turn SPD pedals into flats!

These simple adaptors from German bike kit manufacturers, M-Wave, are a super affordable way to turn a set of Shimano SPD pedals back into flats, for mountain biking or gravel riding when you need your feet free.

They come with a set of cleats to attach to the pedal to keep them attached (so you don’t need to buy an extra set), and then clip the adaptor to the cleat in the same way to would a shoe – although we have our springs set quite heavy so had to use a few flat-headed screwdrivers to help!

Ultimately, they’re a really inexpensive way to convert your existing SPD pedals into the combination versions, but then back to dual-sided SPD pedals again very quickly.
