Verdict: A great and lightweight multitool, at a decent price, that will help you solve most problems when out in the wilderness!

The Leatherman Skeletool is a sleek, compact, and versatile multi-tool designed for those who value practicality and efficiency in their gear. Weighing only 142 grams (5 ounces), it is lightweight yet robust, crafted from durable stainless steel with optional tungsten DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating for added resilience. The design is intentionally minimalist, focusing on essential tools while eliminating unnecessary bulk, making it an ideal companion for everyday use or outdoor adventures.

This multi-tool features seven carefully chosen tools, each integrated seamlessly into its structure. The needle-nose and regular pliers provide precision and strength for gripping tasks, while the wire cutters and hard-wire cutters handle small repairs or adjustments with ease. A partially serrated 420HC stainless steel blade offers a sharp and reliable cutting edge, suitable for various tasks, from slicing through rope to preparing food. The blade can be accessed with one hand, enhancing its practicality in situations where speed and convenience are key.

The Skeletool’s bit driver further increases its versatility, allowing users to switch between different screwdriver bits for tasks like tightening screws or assembling equipment. This feature is particularly valuable for those who require adaptable tools for quick fixes. The carabiner clip, integrated into the design, doubles as a bottle opener, adding a touch of convenience for moments of relaxation. The clip also enables the tool to be securely attached to a belt loop, backpack, or gear bag, ensuring it remains within easy reach during use.

One of the standout aspects of the Leatherman Skeletool is its emphasis on simplicity and functionality. Its ergonomic design ensures comfort and ease of use, while its open-frame construction reduces weight without compromising strength. This balance between portability and durability makes it suitable for a wide range of activities, from hiking and camping to everyday carry for urban use.

The Skeletool’s construction reflects Leatherman’s commitment to quality and reliability, with precision engineering that ensures each tool performs effectively. The stainless steel components are built to withstand tough conditions, while the tungsten DLC-coated variants provide added resistance to wear and corrosion.
