Verdict: Highly popular insulated boots designed for alpine mountaineering and long technical climbs – worth investing in on your mountaineering journey!
The iconic La Sportiva Nepal Cube GTX mountaineering boots are high-performance boots designed for technical alpine climbing and mountaineering in cold and harsh environments. They are an upgraded version of the popular La Sportiva Nepal Evo GTX boots and feature some notable differences improvements and have been dependable on Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and unclimbed peaks in central Asia!
The Nepal Cube boots are made with a combination of high-quality materials, including a durable and water-resistant Cordura upper, a Gore-Tex lining for waterproofing and breathability, and a Vibram sole for superior traction on various terrain types. The boots also have an innovative 3D Flex ankle hinge system that allows for maximum flexibility and support during difficult climbs and descents.
One of the most notable features of the Nepal Cubes is their lightweight design. Compared to the Nepal Evo GTX boots, the Nepal Cube GTX boots are about 20% lighter, making them a great choice for long, technical climbs where weight matters. Despite their light weight, the boots still provide excellent insulation and protection from the cold.
Other features of the Nepal Cube boots include a removable and adjustable tongue, which allows for a more customised fit, and a high cuff that provides additional ankle support and protection. The boots are also compatible with automatic and semi-automatic crampons, making them versatile for different types of climbing.
Overall, the La Sportiva Nepal Cube mountaineering boots are a high-performance and versatile choice for alpine climbing and mountaineering in cold and harsh environments. They are durable, lightweight, and packed with features to help you tackle even the most challenging climbs.
