Tallinn design week 2022

The XVII Tallinn Design Festival, held from September 19–25, 2022, was a vibrant celebration of creativity, innovation, and design. Taking place in the historic Krulli Quarter in Tallinn, the event utilised this unique industrial area as a fitting backdrop for its contemporary and experimental spirit. Bringing together designers, artists, and creative thinkers from Estonia and beyond, the festival fostered an environment for networking, collaboration, and inspiration.

The 2022 festival theme focused on sustainable design and the role of creativity in addressing global challenges, emphasising innovation in the context of environmental and social responsibility. It featured a variety of highlights, including exhibitions that showcased a wide range of design disciplines—from graphic design and product design to fashion and architecture. Both established and emerging designers presented their work, offering diverse perspectives on the latest trends and ideas in the design world.

 

Interactive workshops allowed attendees to engage directly with the creative process, exploring topics like sustainable material usage and experimental design techniques. Renowned design professionals and thought leaders shared their insights during speaker sessions and panel discussions, addressing the future of design with a focus on sustainability, digital innovation, and cultural influence.

Adding an immersive element, the festival also included pop-up stores and installations, as well as a curated design market where visitors could explore and purchase unique creations, from handcrafted items to cutting-edge products.

As one of the most anticipated design events in Estonia, the Tallinn Design Festival 2022 highlighted the country’s growing influence on the global creative stage. Its emphasis on innovation and sustainability underscored the transformative power of design in shaping a better future, making it a must-visit event for enthusiasts and professionals alike.
