One of the things I first noticed when visiting Tallinn was the tall, pointy tower protruding from the beautiful green skyline, with what looked like a flying saucer built into it.

The Tallinn TV tower (aka the Teletorn) is a beautiful 170-metre mast located near Pirita beach and close to some of Tallinn’s wonderful hiking /biking / ski trails.

It has a lovely café restaurant with views around the whole area where you can grab a coffee and cake, a beer or some tasty food. The flying saucer level also features interesting exhibitions, such as the one we saw that explored the history of Estonia’s advanced digital health system with some cool VR experiences.

Probably the most notable thing about the tower, is the freedom to walk right around the edge safely when you’re harnessed to a safety rail. For those unconvinced by this, you can also take a tour of the edge using a VR headset.

We were lucky to be there when some base jumpers turned up and started throwing backflips off the edge, but I can’t guarantee they’ll be there when you are!

Tickets are super cheap and start around €10 for adults, with plenty of buses heading there so just check out which one by using a mapping app.
