Verdict: Dependable grip for mountaineers with a simple attachment system. May seem a little costly, but affordable compared to others!

The Grivel G12 New Classic crampons are a dependable choice for mountaineers navigating icy, snowy terrain, and were my choice to get me to the summit of Mont Blanc in 2016!

Specifically designed to offer traction and stability, these crampons are essential gear for ice climbers and mountaineers. Their reputation stems from durability, user-friendly design, and compatibility with B3 boots.

Robustly crafted, these crampons tackle alpine challenges, ensuring secure footing on ice and packed snow. With a 12-point configuration featuring horizontal and vertical points, these crampons optimise stability and traction on mixed icy terrain. Anti-balling plates prevent snow and ice build-up, enhancing safety by reducing impediments to movement.

They're adjustable to accommodate different boot sizes (although I bought extra-long straps so they would fit my size UK 12 La Sportiva Nepal Cube boots). The front point design ensures efficient penetration into ice and hard snow, offering a secure grip during climbs and traverses.
