Saku mountain biking (near Tallinn)

Saku is a small town located about 20 km south of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The town is well known for its beer brewery, Saku Õlletehas, which was established in 1820 and is one of the oldest breweries in Estonia.

 

In addition to its brewery and arena, Saku is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with forests, lakes, and rivers that offer opportunities for outdoor recreation such as hiking, fishing, and boating. The town also has a number of restaurants, cafes, and shops, as well as several historic sites and landmarks, including the Saku Manor, which was built in the 18th century and is now a museum.

The Saku forest offers a fantastic opportunity for active outdoor activities! Whether you enjoy hiking or skiing, you'll find a variety of well-maintained trails to explore. The trails range from 2 km to 7 km in length, providing options for different levels of difficulty. Additionally, there is a 2.7 km illuminated trail, allowing you to enjoy the forest even after sunset.

 

To ensure a smooth experience, information boards with maps and signposts are placed at key locations along the trails. These will help guide you and provide essential information about the area.

 

If you prefer hiking to mountain biking, there is a dedicated 3 km trail located at the forest's edge. It remains open throughout the year and is typically well-maintained, even during snowy periods, ensuring you can access the forest without disturbing the skiers.

 

For those who don't have their own skiing equipment, ski rental services are available on-site, making it convenient to enjoy the snowy trails.

 

Overall, Saku offers a variety of mountain biking trails that cater to riders of different skill levels, and the natural beauty of the area adds to the overall experience.
