Verdict: Whilst pricey, a great travel backpack that can carry a lot and has always passed as hand luggage in over 30 flights.

I’ve owned the Osprey Farpoint 40 for over 5 years now, and this my go-to travel backpack. It is designed for backpackers, hikers, and travellers who want a lightweight and comfortable pack that can be used for both short and long trips. It's a great option for those who want to travel with carry-on luggage only, as it meets most airline carry-on size requirements (certainly all that I’ve travelled with!).

The Farpoint 40 backpack is made with high-quality materials, including durable 210D Nylon Mini Hex Diamond Ripstop and 600D cloth, which ensures that it can withstand the rigors of travel. It features a comfortable and breathable mesh back panel and shoulder straps, which can be hidden away, and are adjustable to fit different body types.

One of the key features of the Farpoint 40 backpack is its organisation system. The backpack features a large main compartment with a zippered mesh divider, which can be used to separate clothes or gear. The backpack also has a front compartment with pockets for organising smaller items, such as a passport, phone, or snacks. Additionally, the backpack has a padded laptop and tablet sleeve that can fit devices with up to 15.6 inches (it fits my 13-inch Macbook in a Thule Gauntlet sleeve perfectly).

The Farpoint 40 backpack also comes with a detachable daypack, which is great for day trips or as a carry-on item. The daypack features a large main compartment, zippered pockets, and mesh water bottle pockets.

Other features of the Farpoint 40 backpack include a stowaway backpanel, which allows for easy storage and transportation, and multiple compression straps, which help to stabilise the load and reduce the overall size of the backpack.

Overall, the Osprey Farpoint 40 travel backpack is a durable and comfortable option for travellers who want a versatile and organised backpack for their adventures. Its lightweight design, organisation system, and detachable daypack make it a great choice for both short and long trips.
