Verdict: An innovative new take on the classic backpack with the full-length zip and sustainable construction, however price is a sticking point.

This Osprey Archeon backpack has been designed to provide a comfortable experience when yomping across difficult environments. Its build quality, robust construction, and sustainable materials ensure are pretty dependable when out on the trail.

What sets the Archeon apart is its commitment to sustainability, being constructed from GRS certified recycled materials and featuring a PFC-free DWR treatment. This dedication to eco-friendliness resonates with me, however it still feels like it’s a little behind.

One of the key highlights is the full-length front zip, thoughtfully designed with dual sliders, allowing for effortless access to the pack's contents, so you can use it as a camera bag if in the outdoors. Moreover, the lower zip compartment houses a raincover, ensuring that sudden downpours won't catch me off guard. For added organization, the zippered mesh under-lid pocket keeps smaller items securely stowed.

The Archeon doesn't just stop at convenience; it's also about adaptability. The front panel and top lid lash points offer flexibility when dealing with heavier loads. What's more, the waistbelt, equipped with expansive wings, greatly enhances comfort and facilitates effective load transfer. As someone who values comfort during long yomps, this feature is particularly helpful.

Speaking of load, the Archeon 30L is designed to handle weights ranging between 10-20 kilograms, making it a versatile option for various types of expeditions. Whether I'm embarking on a challenging shoot or a ride, I appreciate the pack's ability to accommodate my needs.
