Verdict: A pen torch that works exactly as you’d expect, bright enough for finding your way around in the dark!

The Onyx 50 flashlight presents a blend of features that make it a practical option for outdoor pursuits. With its compact size, push-button tailcap switch, and an output of 30 lumens, it provides adequate brightness for various tasks. Powered by a single AA battery, it offers convenience and cost-effectiveness, especially for those who prefer not to invest in specialised batteries.

It boasts a runtime of 4.5 hours, ensuring reliable illumination during extended outings, while its beam distance of 24 metres provides sufficient visibility for navigating dark trails or campsites. Crafted from anodised aluminium, it offers durability and water resistance, suitable for rugged outdoor conditions.

Measuring 12 centimetres in length and weighing 65 grams (without battery), it's lightweight and portable, easily fitting into pockets or packs. The included lanyard adds convenience for carrying or hanging the flashlight when not in use.

While the Onyx 50 may not offer the highest brightness or longest runtime compared to other models on the market, its practical design and affordability make it a viable option for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a reliable light source for their adventures.
