The Anker PowerCore 10000 power bank is relatively lightweight (for its size to storage ratio), is robust and packs a good few phone and bike light charges in on one single charge! It’s compatible with current models of iPhone, carries 10,000 Milliamp Hours of charge and is quite light at around 180 grams.

It’s about the size of a small wallet and charges using a micro-USB and charges your devices (cameras, phone, bike lights etc) from a standard USB-A cable (definitely research it check the differences).

I’m unsure if it’s waterproof but assume it’s probably not – therefore keep it dry. Anecdotally, it’s survived a few light rain showers however I don’t plan to make that into a habit!

It’s possible to buy bigger ones that hold a greater charge; however, we purchased this one on the logic that it makes sense to have a small number of them seems to the best idea in case one stops working.

In summary, a really good power bank that survives the adventure and doesn’t cost the earth.

Top tip: I have left it out in the cold and found it lost its charge (the same as camera batteries do), Therefore aim to keep it warm if possible (I often keep it in the tent at night to charge phone, headphones, bike lights etc).
