Verdict: Despite a military look about it, a great, robust and super comfy trekking boot at a good price!
Whilst the Altberg warrior boot was designed for military, it’s also incredibly well suited to adventurers, trekkers and those travelling in remote places!
Available in a wide range of sizes from 3 to 14 UK, including half sizes, it provides a good fit for every foot that needs stability and grip in mud. Constructed with 2.4mm full grain Anfibio leather, renowned for its water-repellent properties, the boot's upper promises durability and weather resilience, making it a dependable choice for exploring remote terrains where unpredictable weather conditions prevail. However, it's important to note that while it repels water effectively, it lacks a waterproof membrane, which may impact its performance in consistently wet environments (like jungles, which there is a specific version for).
The boot's interior features a Cambrelle® ultra-breathable lining, designed to wick away moisture and maintain a comfortable environment for the feet, enhancing breathability and reducing the risk of discomfort during prolonged wear. This feature, combined with the absence of a waterproof membrane, suggests its suitability for activities in drier climates or those where breathability is prioritised over waterproofing.
A standout component of the Altberg warrior boot is its Tri-Flex® midsole, engineered to provide optimal support and performance across diverse terrain and seasons. Offering a blend of medium flex and torsional resistance, it accommodates activities ranging from tabbing to navigating rugged landscapes with ease. Furthermore, the midsole's emphasis on ankle and heel support underscores its suitability for long-distance treks, reducing fatigue and enhancing stability on uneven ground.
In essence, the Altberg warrior boot stands as a reliable choice for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a durable, breathable, and supportive footwear option for trekking in remote areas. While its water-repellent construction and versatile midsole make it well-suited for a range of challenging activities and environments.
